Aimed at Primary Schools (KS1-2), Go-Givers is designed to tie into both the citizenship curriculum and the wider primary curriculum. It aims specifically to promote ideas of charity and empathy amongst 4-11 year olds through active participation.

The ‘Go-Givers’ project is a three-part website containing sections for teachers, parents and children of primary age and is designed to be used on an interactive whiteboard. It includes a number of bespoke electronic features and features humorous, simply written stories, which tackle issues directly affecting children.

The Teachers’ section offers free citizenship learning resources. Teachers can download modules of work which are fully referenced to the Guidelines for PSHE and Citizenship, and the National Curriculum. The modules, which can be used for whole class teaching or assemblies, contain thought-provoking presentations for use on the interactive whiteboard; teachers’ notes; and children’s activities linked to literacy and other curriculum areas.

The website is simple to use with a wide range of learning materials for teachers, activities for children, such as the opportunity to make their own cartoon featuring a brand new team of characters which appear in animation throughout the site, and a section for parents containing interesting articles. Parents will also receive printed materials, and will be invited to get involved directly in the project.

Go-Givers seeks to develop an understanding and lifelong commitment to giving, in all its forms, whilst enhancing the citizenship skills of communication, and participation in the local, national and global communities.
