Director of Solid Management, formerly Director of the Giving Campaign
Amanda graduated from the University of York in 1989 and was Student’s Union President from 1989-1990. This was followed by a period of travel and volunteer work.
After working as a fundraiser for Jewish Care, Scope and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, Amanda started working for the Labour Party in 1996. She led the development of high value fundraising and business relations. After the 2001 general election, Amanda became Director of The Giving Campaign.
The Giving Campaign was established by the government to raise awareness of tax-effective giving and to stimulate more giving in the UK. One of its lead projects was Giving Nation and this was successfully handed over to the Citizenship Foundation in 2004, when the Campaign closed as planned after three years.
Amanda has been a Director of Solid Management and Consultancy Ltd since 2004 and has worked with a number of national charities, including NCVO, Schoolfriend etc, the People’s History Museum, Save the Children, Refuge, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the Refugee Council and v.
She is a trustee of Community Foundation Network and a Fellow of the Institute for Philanthropy.
