British Council's Active Citizens programme
The Citizenship Foundation advises the British Council on its programme to help marginalised groups improve their local communities and make their voices heard in civic campaigns.
The programme is now manditory for all universities in Pakistan. 300 trained facilitators will start grass-roots social action projects through the universities.
The Citizenship Foundation plays a lead advisory role, developing materials and delivering training.
Active Citizens uses concepts and approaches developed in London as part of our Youth Act programme. Youth Act helped marginalised groups to raise their voices in civic campaigns to improve their local areas.
This groundbreaking work has supported learning and action for young citizens globally since 2008.
