Get Set for Community Action
In the run-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Get Set for Community Action encourages schools to run local projects and inspire others to do the same.
Get Set for Community Action, presented by Paralympics GB and Team GB, equips young people aged 14-19 with life and employability skills by supporting them to plan and deliver two community projects.
It strengthens relationships between young people and their local communities through the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of courage, determination, equality and inspiration.
Thousands of 14-19 year olds – ‘Action Leads’ – will work in teams across the UK, building relationships with local community groups to plan and deliver at least two projects each.
Win exclusive prizes!
Schools that take part in Get Set for Community Action have the chance to win an exclusive visit from a top athlete, an all-expenses-paid trip to London and a limited edition Rio pack.
Become a ‘Champion School’
We are recruiting Champion Schools to support at least three other local schools to Get Set for Community Action, and to be champions of good practice to inspire others.
Champion Schools form teams of up to 10 young people (Action Leads) who set up, run and report on projects with local Community Partners, to focus on the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Great! Make me a Champion!
