Description

A Citizens' Day provides an opportunity to celebrate local achievements, to build and renew community cohesion, and to develop greater local engagement.

The Citizens’ Day Framework, which has been funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government,

provides a resource for all those who are concerned with developing better citizenship education, effective

citizenship and stronger communities.

Developed from a pilot exercise involving four pioneering local authorities (Birmingham, Hull, Southwark and Stoke-on-Trent), the booklet provides advice and guidance for local authorities, their partners in the voluntary and community sector and other organisations and individuals committed to building community engagement and cohesion through active citizenship.
